Match no 35
Csk Vs Rcb
ABOUT THE MATCH
The IPL is hotting up as the teams near the bottom of the table start to make a comeback into the tournament. RCB is one of those teams that is blessed with some of the best batting talent in this tournament but has struggled to put together solid performances. A couple of important wins in their last few matches, though, has left them in with a good shot of making the playoffs if they continue in the same vein. Their opponents for this match are no pushovers, though.
CHENNAI SUPER KINGS
The shift to Pune has not been the easiest for CSK. The flat batting pitch that the venue has served up this season has worked well for their strong batting lineup but has also allowed opposition batsmen to make merry. It has also exposed CSK’s weaknesses on the bowling front.
For a team that is also not the best fielding side in the tournament, defending totals has been tough and that weakness becomes really highlighted on small grounds with flat batting tracks.
ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE
We think that RCB could have very well in a similar position to CSK had a little more luck gone their way. Both teams are very similar in the sense that they have a very strong batting lineup and have struggled to get their bowling together.
In the last match against the Mumbai Indians, though, RCB finally seemed to have put together a combination that can bowl decently and keep them in the contest when the pressure begins to rise. We love the fact that Tim Southee is now a regular starter for this team because he brings so much to the table.

SRH VS DD
ABOUT THE MATCH
Delhi Daredevils’ win against the Royals take them one step closer to a playoff spot, but they’ll always be one hiccup away from elimination. With three wins from nine games, the Daredevils need to win all of their remaining five matches to qualify for the playoffs. On the contrary, Sunrisers Hyderabad are sitting at the top of the table with six wins in nine games. They just need a couple of more wins to ascertain their place in the playoffs. The two teams lock horns on 5th May 2018 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.
Sunrisers Hyderabad looked to be one of the most balanced sides after the auction, but the absence of David Warner at the top due to the unfortunate ball-tampering incident clearly left a void at the top of the order. While the absence of Warner has clearly been felt at the top of the order, their bowlers have ensured that the impact of his absence is minimal.
Delhi Daredevils survived a scare from Jos Buttler in their game against Rajasthan Royals. Jos Buttler scored a blistering half-century and had the Daredevils on knees before he was stumped for 54. Earlier in the first innings, the Daredevils wrecked havoc on Rajasthan’s bowling lineup as they compiled 194 runs in just 17.1 overs. Prithvi Shaw started the innings in a belligerent fashion and once he departed, it was all Rishabh Pant show. Pant scored 69 off just 29 deliveries and got good support from Shreyas Iyer who, too, completed his half-century.
