Here Is The Today Match Preview By Mi Lu
Toronto Nationals vs Vancouver Knights: PREVIEW
The wait is finally over. Canada will be the destination as some of the finest T20 players in the world get ready to ply their trade in the newest domestic T20 competition. While it may be sandwiched between the glitz and the glamour of the IPL and the CPL, Global T20 Canada will be looking to make its mark.
First, up will be the match between Toronto Nationals and Vancouver Knights. And one couldn’t have asked for a better start to the tournament. Toronto will be led by two-time World T20-winning West Indies captain Darren Sammy while Vancouver Knights will be under the leadership of the all-time leading T20 run-getter and the original superstar of the format, Chris Gayle.
Aside from the battle of the two West Indian captains, there are other storylines in this as well. This will mark the return of Steve Smith to the international spotlight as he will be playing his first game since the sandpaper saga that enveloped the game not too long. Then there is also Andre Russell, who will be keen to continue his impressive form from the IPL and show that the time away from the game hasn’t diminished his skills.
Who will come out on top in the first game of the Global T20 2018? Maple Leaf Cricket Club in Toronto will have the answer.
Date: 29th June 2018
Venue: Maple Leaf Cricket Club, Toronto
Time: 1.30 AM IST
What they say
“As a Christian, you commit sins, there are punishments for your sins. [It] doesn’t mean everything is okay, but there’s always forgiveness after you’ve committed your sins and paid the price, and you move on. Like we said, they’ve done that. They’ve missed out on IPL, they’ve been sacked and all that stuff, but at the end of the day life goes on.
“I think, as sportsmen, we want to do the right things, set the example for the next generation. We will make mistakes, but it doesn’t mean you’ve got to keep kicking a man when he’s down. That’s not the humane way to do things, and I think there’s a right to punish but there’s also a right to forgive and move on.”
