Hello all and Welcome to Addi’s prediction
ABOUT THE MATCH
There are five teams still in contention for the three open knockout spots and that ensures that there are not going to be any dead rubbers even at this late stage of the TNPL. The Chepauk Super Gillies are going to be taking on the Dindigul Dragons in a match which holds a lot of significance for the Dindigul Dragons.
With four wins out of six, the Dragons have had a good tournament but need to finish with a win to ensure its qualification. The Chepauk Super Gillies do not have any chance of qualification but they do have some pride on the line.
CHEPAUK SUPER GILLIES
It looked for a while that the Chepauk Super Gillies were going to end this edition of the TNPL without a win. They finally managed to register one in their last match and are now looking to finish on a high. It is not going to be an easy task for a team that has struggled massively throughout the season.
The draft did not quite go the Super Gillies way and even the players that they did pick up have not performed as per expectations. The biggest letdown for the Chepauk Super Gillies has been its batting.
Not a single batsman from the side has reached 200 runs in total, only two individual fifties have been recorded, and someone like M Ashwin sits at third on the list of top run-getters for the side.
Gopinath, Karthik, Rahul, and Sasidev were expected to be the ballast for the side but their poor form has let the Chepauk Super Gillies down. It is not unfair to suggest that a few of the names in this squad may be on the chopping block for next year so performing in this last match has all the personal benefits that they need.
M Ashwin and Harish Kumar lead the bowling efforts with seven wickets each but none of the other supporting bowlers have made much of an impact. To be fair, this is not a tournament with a lot of b bowling talent and the onus of winning matches goes on the batsmen.
The Super Gillies will have to dig really deep to able to win this one.

The Dindigul Dragons have had a much better season this year than last time around and the change in personnel has done them a lot of good. Players like Jagadeesan, Vivek, Chaturved, and Hari Nishanth have managed to get their act together and score consistently in most matches.
One or two players have had a good partnership for the Dindigul Dragons in almost all the matches and that has helped them prosper. The pressure will be on the batsmen in this match as this would be the worst time for them to fail.
A fear of failure can cripple the freedom with which the team plays and that is what the Dindigul Dragons must guard against.
We think this side definitely has the form and the players to take advantage of a weak Super Gillies bowling attack but they will have to be a little cautious against M Ashwin.
The Dindigul Dragons do not have the best bowling attack themselves. They were helped by having Ravichandran Ashwin around for the first few matches, who still remains their highest wicket taker, and have struggled since he left.
Adithya Arun and M Abhinav have been decent with the ball but neither of them is going to give any nightmares to the opposition.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS
The pitch in Dindigul is starting to show wear and tear due to the number of matches being played on it. Run-scoring has started to become tougher than it was in the beginning and the spinners are becoming a major threat now. We think the par score at the venue should now be considered around 150.
Showers in the morning will give way to a clear but humid day in the evening. We should have a full, uninterrupted match being played out.
